Reclink Australia regretfully announces that the Reclink Australia Community Cup in Melbourne is unable to proceed this year.
Large public events in Melbourne continue to be a challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of volunteers and teams is of utmost importance to Reclink, and key partners Triple R and PBS.
With the important and necessary restrictions on patron numbers and safety procedures at the venue, it is not possible to run the Reclink Community Cup in Melbourne as we know and love it.
“The Community Cup is such an important part of Reclink’s Calendar. We are disappointed that we cannot run the Melbourne Community Cup this year, but we are excited that other states will still go ahead. Looking forward to 2022 Comm Cup,” said Dave Wells, Reclink Australia CEO.
The Reclink Community Cup has great significance within the local music and community sport scenes and provides a valuable, much-needed contribution to Reclink’s annual fundraising efforts.
Reclink’s structured sport and recreation programs help to improve life outcomes for those experiencing mental illness, family violence, homelessness, social isolation, gambling harm, unemployment, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
During and post-COVID-19 restrictions, Reclink programs and activities are more important than ever, and with your generous support, these programs can continue to have an impact.
