Reclink Australia is delighted to announce $180,000 was raised from the 2023 Reclink Community Cup, held at Victoria Park on Sunday June 18th.
With over 10,000 people welcomed through the gates, all money raised from both attendance and activities across the course of the day will be distributed towards the critical ongoing delivery of Reclink’s programs throughout Australia to those most in need.
Crowds flocked to enjoy another thrilling match between the Rockdogs and Megahertz, which was interspersed with memorable stage performances from bands The Cosmic Psychos, Teeny Tiny Stevies, Our Carlson, Gut Health, The Merindas and Close Counters.
Reclink Australia would also like to acknowledge the Victorian State Government for their support of the Community Cup.
The pre-game formalities featured an announcement from Gary Maas MP of a $50,000 boost on behalf of the Victorian State Government towards the staging of this unique community event.
The funding is part of the Small and Medium Events program, which aims to build on the significant success of Victoria’s blockbuster major events calendar to support the delivery of a vast array of smaller creative, cultural and community sporting events across Greater Melbourne.
Reclink Australia looks forward to continuing to work with the government on ensuring the long-term viability and success of the Community Cup; which ultimately provide life-changing programs and opportunities for disadvantaged members of the Victorian community.
The Community Cup was a testament to the spirit of unity and camaraderie that transcends the game itself, reminding us all of the power of sport to bring a community together.
We extend our gratitude to all the staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this day possible. We are grateful for your invaluable contribution and for helping make the 30-year anniversary Community Cup a fantastic day.
