Reclink Rebels victorious at the Imparja Cup

The Imparja Cup is Australia’s National Indigenous Cricket Carnival held annually in the heart of Australia, Alice Springs.  The Cup is a national celebration of cricket and Indigenous culture.

The Reclink Rebels play in the Community Division. In 2013, the team were runners up.  This year, we are very proud to announce that the Reclink Rebels, not only made the finals, but went on to win the Men’s Community Cup!

The guys put in a mammoth effort as some had not played in over 20 years but their skills in both batting and fielding was phenomenal to say the least, playing for 5 days in a row in 39 – 40 degree temperatures.

Most of the team came to the Imparja Cup Gala Dinner which was held at the Convention Centre on Saturday night with an attendance of around 200 people including the Chief Minister, Hon Adam Giles, Alice Springs Mayor, Damian Ryan, and representatives of Cricket NT distributing the awards.
