SUNBURY Phoenix has risen again to win back-to-back premierships in the Reclink Australia football competition.
Coached by Brian Millett, Phoenix got the better of the South Peninsula Swans at St Kilda’s Peanut farm last Wednesday, winning by 52 points.
Reclink Australia has run its midweek league for 20 years and gives marginalised people the chance to get involved with sport.
Phoenix players vowed to win the premiership for goal umpire Ron Gleeson, who died recently from a stroke.
Many of the team members and volunteers will now turn their attention to cricket season where the Phoenix also has a side.
Its player presentation night will be held this Wednesday.
