WA office seeks new Project Officer

Reclink Australia's Western Australia office is set to double in size as a new Project Officer role is now open to applications. With a focus on continuing Reclink Australia's work, delivering sport and arts activities to disdvantaged Australians, the new Project Officer will help to deliver programs assisted by the WA state government.

About us

Reclink Australia is a charitable organisation whose mission is to provide and promote sport and arts activities to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage. We target some of the community’s most vulnerable and isolated people, including those who are experiencing mental health issues, disability, homelessness, substance abuse issues, addictions and social and economic hardship. With over 400 member organisations nationally, we currently provide 95,000 participant opportunities throughout Australia annually.

The Role

Based in Perth and reporting to the Western Australia (WA) State Manager, you will be coordinating sport & recreation activities for disadvantaged communities. You will be responsible for developing strong relationships with various State Sporting Associations & Clubs in the sport and recreation sector with the aim of increasing participation opportunities.
This is a 12 month contract on a Part-time 0.8 (EFT) basis. A competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful application based on experience.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

Assist the WA State Manager in the coordination and expansion of sporting programs and competitions Develop new programs and initiatives in partnership with State Sporting Associations Recruit volunteers and facilitators to assist in the delivery of various sport and recreation programs targeting disadvantaged communities Work closely with State Sporting Associations, clubs and/or recreational facilities to implement inclusive policies and practices Increase participation opportunities for disadvantaged communities to be actively involved in mainstream sporting clubs & activities Promote Reclink Australia activities and initiatives to key stakeholders targeting disadvantaged communities Compile project reports and acquittals for government funded initiatives Represent Reclink Australia in a positive and constructive manner

Qualifications and Experience

Relevant qualifications or experience in Community Development and/or Sport and Recreation. Sound understanding of coordinating sporting activities and events Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders. High level of verbal and written communication skills and ability to network with a wide variety of people. Passion for servicing disadvantaged communities
